Job Description
We are seeking a young, enthusiastic and motivated veterinarian for the following tasks:
- Supervise and monitor the animal health situation, carry out treatments in the groups of animals under his/her responsibility, to ensure that herd health management, mastitis control, breeding management, infectious disease control are carried out as per requirements determined by chief veterinarian;
- Assist in the management of emergencies, deliveries, dystocia and neonatal care;
- Assist in the monitoring of daily feeding activities including all production and age groups;
- Carry out regular body condition scoring of animals in co-ordination with farm manager and assist in adjustment of feeding.
- To maintain all ISO related documentation.
Skills
- BSc and/or MSc in veterinary medicine, BSc in veterinary sciences is not sufficient;
- 5 years experience as a clinical veterinarian working with large animals. Experience with herd health management, dairy, working at farms and management of deliveries are essential;
- Background on animal and dairy nutrition is welcome;
- Previous experience working with camels is a plus;
- English language is required, Arabic language knowledge is a plus;
- General computer knowledge using MS Office softwares (word, excel, powerpoint, accord etc.) is necessary.
- Previous work experience will be evaluated and taken into consideration together with the educational background and the personality of the applicant.
The selected person must be flexible, innovative, should be able to work independently, but in the same time should also be an efficient team-player and ready to learn new aspects of agriculture and working with dromedary camels.
